The glasses, the Chrome extension and the dashboard

  • Photos go over Bluetooth straight from the glasses to your computer.
  • They are stored only in your browser on that computer (the dashboard keeps up to 100, the extension the last 20).
  • They are never uploaded to us or anyone else. We never see them.
  • You do not need an account to use the glasses.
  • You can delete one photo or all of them at any time in the dashboard or the extension. Clearing your browser's site data removes them too.

A photo only goes somewhere else when you paste or share it yourself, for example into ChatGPT. That service's own terms then apply. The sections below cover the optional Glass Notes account (sign in and the account page) and the phone app.

Welcome to Glass Notes ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and web service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information (email address, name)
  • Photos of lecture notes and whiteboards you capture
  • Calendar data when you import your university schedule
  • Remote camera preferences, including per-user rotation settings
  • Any content you create or upload within the app

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Device information (device type, operating system)
  • Usage data (features used, time spent in app)
  • Log data (IP address, browser type, access times)
  • Device presence and connection status data when remote capture is used

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Deliver photos you take on your phone to your signed-in browser
  • Sync your data across devices
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience

4. How We Handle Your Photos

Glass Notes does one thing with your photos: moves them from your phone to your computer.

  • We do not analyse, tag, or interpret the contents of your photos
  • Your photos are never sent to any AI service
  • Uploaded copies expire automatically and are removed
  • Only your own signed-in account can access your photos
  • We never use your content to train models

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest. Images are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls. While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

  • Service providers who assist in operating our services (cloud hosting)
  • Legal authorities when required by law

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data
  • Opt out of marketing communications

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Temporary captures created in Study Mode are intended to be cleaned up automatically (about 1 hour), while regular notes are retained until you delete them. If you delete your account, we delete personal data within 30 days, except where law requires longer retention.

9. Notifications

Glass Notes does not currently send push notifications to users. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy before enabling that feature.

10. Children's Privacy

Glass Notes is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 16, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
